This is a strong (queen/king holds up to 700 lbs), lightweight, and inexpensive platform bed. It is easy to assemble (only 8 pieces) and build quality seems decent. I assembled it in about a half hour at a leisurely pace. The most difficult part of the assembly was getting the wooden slats lined up exactly. The description for this bed says it's a matte finish nickel color, but I'd say it's a bit more gray. It's a painted finish, not polished metal. In my opinion this color fits best with light/natural/maple finish or white furniture. The bed itself ships in two large boxes. The boxes are a bit awkward to carry in terms of dimensions, but neither of them are heavy -- one was 31 lbs and the other was 45 lbs (the weights were printed on the box). There are a lot sloppy welds visible up close, but they are painted in the same finish and aren't noticeable from a distance. I am using this bed with a 10" memory foam mattress. My only real complaint is with the headboard design. The area where a pillow normally goes is essentially open except for one vertical bar which is offset from the center. My pillows keep slipping into this open area. The photo shows pillows fitting neatly between two bars, but these might be extra large pillows as mine do not sit this way. I am now trying to figure out a way to create some type of "wrap" for the headboard to fill in that gap. This bed, as identified on the box, is made by Boyd Speciality Sleep.I put this together by myself and it was really very easy. It came with great instructions and the screws and tool as well. It took me about an hour I would say. It's really very nice looking as well. Came I 2 boxes and neither was too heavy for me to drag. I thought that I had a normal queen size bed but apparently I don't. My bed is stuffed in the frame. I couldn't make it by myself because once I got it into the frame I couldn't pull it out. I needed my husbands help! I would recommend measuring your mattress to make sure it will fit with no issues. I love that I don't need a box spring with! I'm going to give this to my friend and order another different size. For the price you really can't go wrong.First off, one of the adjustable feet was missing. That was a bummer but I probably could have worked around that. Biggest problem was the darn headboard legs extensions, which are designed to slide into the headboard itself, do not fit. There was no way outside of machining these legs that they were going in the appropriate slots. Seemed like a well made bed frame, but what a pain it will be returning this monstrosity. The box was falling apart when it was delivered so it will never go back in there. Not to mention, I have to schedule and appointment to have it picked up. So I have to take time off of work to return this? What a pain.Easy to assemble, and incredibly sturdy for one adult. Great value if you're looking for an affordable yet quality metal bed.
